Many people think of Orlando as a larger city. When in fact the Orlando city limits are quite small and quaint. The incorporated and unincorporated areas of Orange county have become known more recently as Greater Orlando. Some people even consider portions of Seminole county and Lake county as part of Orlando due to their close proximity to Orange county. Orlando has many interesting things to experience if you just take the time to look. We are more than just excellent fishing and boating water ways with both interesting and yes sometimes dangerous wildlife. We have alot of history as well, from Fort Maitland now known as the city of Maitland to Winter Park to some of the most beautiful natural springs and parks imaginable. No we don't actaully have mountains but we do have a Mount Dora just out side of Orange county located in Lake county with wonderful antique shops and amazing examples of victorian architecture you wouldn't expect in Florida. There are many places to see with in a few hours drive of Orlando city limits. Not to mention the gulf coast towns including but not limited to Tampa Bay and the Atlantic coastal towns of Daytona Beach, New Smyrna and the Space Coast/Cocoa Beach. Most people wouldn't think that the indoor foliage capital of the WORLD is just a short drive to Apopka Florida. or that the first spanish fort built is still standing in St. Augustine Florida. Let's not forget Bok Tower and Gardens just south of Orlando with a huge Carillon bell tower and koi pond located on the highest point of Florida and built in beautiful Victorian and frank lloyd wright styles, a must see. Of course there are the theme parks as well.
